The mission of Global Criminal Justice Solutions, LLC (GCJS) is to
support the development or enhancement of responsive, fair, and effective
criminal justice systems around the world. GCJS recruits, selects, trains,
and deploys advisors and trainers to participate in its international law
enforcement development program.
We are looking for advisors in law enforcement, corrections and justice.
Additionally, life and mission support (LMS) personnel, consultants, and
specialists in various fields are needed.

Corrections Advisors Key Responsibilities
·
All Corrections Advisors:
o
Assess, monitor and advise local corrections officers as they perform their
duties.
o
Enforce the rules and regulations governing a correctional facility. This
includes the confinement, safety, health and protection of inmates as well as
supervising the various work assignments of inmates.
o
select, screen and train and/or mentor local correction officers and candidates.
Such work seeks to reform and develop the local civil police and corrections
systems, or to create a new system where none exists.
o
Corrections Advisors will assess existing incarceration structures and
facilities and make recommendations to senior government,
prison/corrections/probation/parole and criminal justice officials to develop
and/or strengthen structures, facilities and programs, with due regard for human
rights.
o
Assessments and recommendations may be in countries with records of gross
violations of human rights.
o
Assessors may have to work with other international and local officials and
international Level organizations in developing assessments and recommendations.
o
Supervisor level advisors will explain general orders, messages and decisions of
command staff to subordinates.
o
Senior level advisors will typically serve as senior mission leaders in a
command staff position responsible for proper distribution of assigned personnel
based on need and ability (where appropriate); prompt and complete handling of
special assignments.
o
Senior level advisors may also serve as leaders (e.g. Contingent Commanders) for
smaller missions or deputy leaders (e.g. Deputy Contingent Commanders) for large
and/or complex missions.
Minimum Requirements
Experience
·
All advisors shall have a combined total of eight (8) years work experience with
at least five (5) years experience in the relevant field
Education
·
This requirement will vary from level to level.
The minimum requirement will be graduations from federal or
state-certified corrections, probation/parole academy of at least 120 hours in
length
·
A level of formal education may be required (note: associate’s degree or higher)
Certifications/Licenses
·
Current certifications in first aid, less-than-lethal systems, chemical agents.
Preferred Skills
·
Prison operations, probation and parole systems, corrections
administration and human resources, corrections training, Security threat
groups, correctional facilities management, classification and records, prisoner
programs, prisoner transportation, emergency response, strategic planning,
corrections logistics, correctional medical services, community corrections.
Physical Requirements
·
Working conditions could be remote with limited resources.

Justice Advisors’ Key Responsibilities
·
All advisors may provide advice and assistance to draft new legal codes and
procedures, train local officials on new codes and procedures (including
training local trainers), and provide advice and guidance on managing and
prosecuting complex criminal cases. Specialists may have to work with
other international and local officials and international organizations.
·
Supervisor level advisors typically serve as leaders (e.g. Chief of Team) for
smaller missions or deputy leaders (e.g. Deputy Chief of Team) for large and/or
complex missions.
·
Senior level advisors require advanced judicial expertise or advisors serving as
senior level mentors to high level host nation officials.
Minimum Requirements
Experience
·
This requirement will vary by level.
However, all advisors shall have a combined total of eight (8) years work
experience with at least five (5) years experience in the relevant field (i.e.
as an attorney, judge, or justice sector professional)
·
Advisors shall have at least 3 years of criminal trial experience as a criminal
defense attorney, prosecutor, judge, or court administrator.
Education
·
A level of formal education may be required (note: associate's degree or higher)
Certifications/Licenses
·
Advisors shall be licensed to practice law, except for specialized professional
positions within the criminal justice system, such as court administrators.
Preferred Skills
·
Judicial practices and judicial independence, prosecution, narcotics
prosecution, complex serious crimes investigation and prosecution, criminal
defense, court administration, police-prosecutor coordination, comparative law,
informal justice systems, access to justice and public information, gender
justice, ethics, alternative dispute resolution/victim conciliation, legal
education (basic and continuing), financial crimes, terrorist crimes, judge, and
witness security.

Police Advisors Key Responsibilities
·
All Police Advisors will involve performing the full range of law enforcement
and policing functions, such as patrolling and responding to calls such as
burglary, theft, assault, sexual assault, murder, disturbances and family
disputes. Other duties may be
enforcing traffic laws, issuing citations, apprehending violators, preparing and
submitting reports of patrol activities.
·
Supervisor level advisors will explain general orders,
messages and decisions of senior advisor staff to subordinates. They also
keep all subordinates informed of changes in regulations and policies,
implications of new or amended laws and new techniques in police work;
Investigate charges of inefficiency or neglect of duty against contingent
members and file report or charges based on the findings.
·
Senior level advisors will typically serve as senior mission leaders,
responsible for proper distribution of assigned personnel based on need and
ability (where appropriate), prompt and complete handling of special
assignments.
·
Senior level advisors may also serve as leaders (e.g. Contingent Commanders) for
