Governor Signs Corrections Training Bills

After nearly two years of hard work on behalf of MSA and DSAM, Governor Jennifer M. Granholm has signed House Bills 4515 – 4517. This legislation will create the Sheriffs Coordinating Training Office and Training Council, mandate training standards and basic training with certification  for local correctional officers, and establish a $12 booking fee to help pay for the state and local training.
