CRIME PREVENTION ON PATROL
In today’s economic environment, law enforcement
agencies are being asked to do more than just respond to calls for service, all
the while staff levels and budgets are being slashed.
Preventing crime should always be the primary role of the police, but
rarely do patrol officers ever receive training in
crime prevention. This
course will provide first responders with the knowledge necessary to assist
victims of crime with prevention advice and techniques that may prevent them
from being victimized in the future.
This one-day class is designed for patrol officers, deputies, and
investigators to learn more about preventing crime within their communities.
Attendees will be able to offer residents and businesses preventive
recommendations to reduce the likelihood of being victimized.
Participants will learn about target hardening, proven community
prevention initiatives, and how to conduct brief, yet effective security
surveys.
Participants in this training will receive printable
material that can be used as a reference in their daily interaction with
citizens.
